Through innovative energy saving techniques, aggregation of energy consumption, smart energy control systems and use of renewable energy sources, Yaran plans to significantly reduce the amount of carbon energy used on all properties.
ROOFTOP SOLAR FARM
We are targeting a zero emission, net positive carbon offset developments.
Our approach to sustainable energy management will be to combine passive generation using affordable, proven solar technologies, clever building design, and smart management systems to manage peak loads. Our approach will mean that our future projects:
• Is a net energy exporter
• Provides a reduction in power costs to residents over business as usual developments
• Provides free power during daytime periods to support stay-at-home residents (aged, unemployed,
carer and young children) and home office workers
• Sustainable building materials, appliances and quality of construction to minimise heating and
cooling needs
• The use of air source heat pump hot water systems which are 75% more energy efficient than typical hot water systems and can be run during the daytime, so they are powered 100% from solar energy.
Residents will greatly benefit from lower electricity prices through load shifting times of peak PV production (10 am to 3 pm daily) when electricity will be provided free of charge. Electricity tariffs at all other times will match Synergy’s A1 flat rate tariff with an additional 10% discount offered to the residents.
